Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Netwing ("we," "us," or "our") is an event networking platform operated by Ember Development Studios, LLC (DeLand, Florida). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use netwing.app and the Netwing mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, build your professional card, follow an organization, RSVP to an event, check in at an event, claim an organization profile, or contact us. This may include:
- Account data — email address and name, provided directly or through Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In if you choose those options.
- Professional card data — name, job title, company, industry, and city, shared at your discretion.
- Location data — if you tap to enable location tagging, we determine your approximate city. We store the city name only(for example "DeLand, FL"), never your precise GPS coordinates.
- Event activity — organizations you follow, RSVPs, and QR check-ins, including the event and time of check-in.
- Guest check-in data — if you check in to an event without an account, the name and email you enter on the check-in form.
- Organization data — if you claim or administer an organization: your work email, role, verification details, and content you publish (events, images, descriptions).
- Payment data — organization subscriptions are collected and processed by Stripe; we never store full card numbers.
- Contact matches — only if you turn on contact matching in the mobile app and grant the permission. Your address book is read on your device and each email address and phone number is converted to a one-way hash before anything leaves it. We store those hashes, never the names, numbers, or email addresses themselves. See section 7.
- Search terms — what you type into the search box on the Explore and Organizations screens, recorded as product analytics so we can see what people look for and cannot find.
We also collect limited technical data automatically (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security, spam prevention, and analytics.
2. How we use your information
- Operate your account, professional card, follows, RSVPs, and check-ins.
- Show organizations who attended their events and power their analytics.
- Process organization subscription payments through Stripe.
- Send transactional email — confirmations, receipts, and account notices.
- Recommend events and organizations near your chosen city.
- Show you which of your contacts are already on Netwing, if you turn contact matching on.
- Understand what people search for — especially searches that find nothing — so we can fill gaps in the directory.
- Protect the Service from spam, fraud, and abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Attendee visibility
Netwing is a networking product. Your professional card and RSVP status may be visible to the organization hosting an event and, where the organization enables it, to other attendees of that event ("see who's going"). You control what your card contains, and you can RSVP without filling in optional fields.
4. Payment data
Organization subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.in accordance with PCI-DSS. We retain only the subscription status, plan, and receipt metadata — never full card numbers. Attendee accounts are free and require no payment information. Review Stripe's policy at stripe.com/privacy.
5. Email
We send email via Resend, Inc. Transactional emails (claim confirmations, receipts, account and security notices) are sent as part of operating the Service. Any future marketing email will be opt-in and will include an unsubscribe link.
6. Location, maps & geocoding
Event venue addresses, and your approximate coordinates when you enable location tagging, are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim serviceto resolve a map position or a city name. We store the resulting venue coordinates and your city name — your device coordinates are used for the lookup and then discarded. Location tagging is optional and controlled by your device's permission settings.
7. Contacts & finding people you know
The Netwing mobile app can show you which of your existing contacts are already on Netwing. This feature is off until you turn it onand grant your device's contacts permission, and you can use every other part of Netwing without it.
When it is on, your address book is read on your device. Each email address and phone number is converted to a one-way hash there, and only those hashes are sent to us — we never receive your contacts' names, phone numbers, or email addresses, and a hash cannot be reversed back into them. We compare the hashes against hashes of Netwing accounts to find matches, and store them so the app does not have to re-read your address book every time you open it.
Your contacts are not messaged, invited, or added to anything by us, and we do not use them to build profiles of people who are not Netwing users. You can remove a match at any time, revoke the contacts permission in your device settings, or delete your account — each of which removes the stored hashes.
8. Search terms
When you search on the Explore or Organizations screens we record what you typed, together with your account, so we can understand what people are looking for — particularly searches that return nothing, which tell us which organizations and events are missing from the directory. Search terms are used for this purpose only. They are never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to target advertising, and they are deleted with your account.
9. Cookies & spam prevention
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Public forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which analyzes limited technical signals to distinguish people from bots. We do not use advertising cookies.
10. Data sharing
We share information only when necessary:
- Service providers — Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (spam prevention), and OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (geocoding). They process data on our behalf.
- Organizations you interact with — the host organization sees your RSVP, check-in, and the professional card fields you have filled in.
- Legal compliance — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
- We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data.
11. Data retention
We retain account and activity records while your account is active. Organization billing records are kept as required for legal, accounting, and audit obligations (typically 7 years). You may request deletion at any time (see below).
12. Your rights
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct — update your professional card and profile at any time in the app.
- Delete — request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Port — request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Opt out — disable location tagging, turn off contact matching and revoke the contacts permission, unfollow organizations, or withdraw consent at any time.

13. Children
Netwing is a professional networking product intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it promptly.
