Delete your Netwing account

This page explains how to permanently delete your account in Netwing, published by Ember Development Studios, LLC, and exactly what happens to your data when you do.

How to request deletion

Deleting your account is self-serve and takes effect immediately — there is no waiting period and no request queue.

  1. Open the Netwing app and sign in.
  2. Tap the Profile tab.
  3. Open Account & Security.
  4. Tap Delete Account, then confirm.

Your account is erased as soon as you confirm, and you are signed out on every device. The action cannot be undone — this is a deletion, not a deactivation, so signing up again with the same email address creates a brand-new empty account.

If you cannot sign in

If you have lost access to your account and still want it removed, email support@emberdevstudios.com from the email address on the account, with the subject Delete my Netwing account. We will verify ownership and delete it for you within 30 days, and email you when it is done.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes your sign-in credentials and every record tied to you personally:

  • Your login and authentication records, including linked Apple or Google sign-in
  • Your profile — name, title, bio, photo, contact details and social links
  • The organizations you follow and the ones you are a member of
  • Your saved events, RSVPs and check-in history
  • Your messages and conversations
  • Your contact matches and the one-way hashes generated from your address book, along with your friend connections
  • Your push notification tokens, notification history and notification preferences
  • Your data-sharing consents and your profile photo files

What is kept

If you published content on behalf of an organization — events, announcements, photos, campaigns, or check-in scans you performed as staff — that content stays with the organization, but your authorship is anonymized and no longer points at you or at any identifying detail about you. We keep it because deleting a venue's event history because one of its administrators closed a personal account would destroy a third party's records.

We may also retain records we are legally required to keep, such as transaction and tax records for any payments processed through the platform. These are held only for as long as the law requires and are not used to re-identify or contact you.

Retention period

Deletion happens immediately in our live database. Encrypted backups are retained by our infrastructure provider on a rolling basis and are overwritten within 30 days, after which no copy of your personal data remains. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.

Deleting some of your data without deleting your account

You do not have to close your account to remove data you have already shared. These controls all live inside the app and take effect immediately:

  • Contacts. Go to My Network → Sync Contacts and tap Remove Synced Contacts. This deletes every hash generated from your address book along with the matches built from them.
  • Profile details. Edit or clear any field — photo, title, bio, contact details, social links — from Profile → Edit profile.
  • Follows, RSVPs and saved events. Unfollow an organization or remove an RSVP from the organization or event page at any time.
  • Discoverability. Turn off contact discovery under Profile → Privacyso you are no longer matchable by other people's address books.

For anything not covered above, email support@emberdevstudios.com describing what you want removed, and we will action it within 30 days.

Download your data first

Deletion is permanent, so export anything you want to keep before you start. In the app, go to Profile → Account & Security → Download my data to get a copy of your profile, follows, saved events, RSVPs and check-in history.
